Web hosting features and remarks: IPOWER is run by the same company that owns Bizland and StartLogoc. Endurance International Group purchased IPOWER, which used to call itself iPowerWeb. iPOWER's affordable hosting plan Pro Plan looks nice. The current annual price is only $59.40. And you will get 1.5 terra bytes of disk space and 15 terra bytes of monthly bandwidth. Do you need more space and bandwidth? And the number of MySQL databases is 25. That's not many. But you don't need more than 10 databases for normal usages. The price is good. Disk space and bandwidth are good. But you will only get what you pay for. So what's bad for Pro Plan? There is one thing that should be in your consideration before you sign up with iPOWER. File transfer speeds may not be good at iPOWER. For us, they are horrible. We tried to upload 3 large files to our account at iPOWER. Each of them is 150 MB or more. We only got 20 to 25 KB/s for each. We have never seen such slow speeds elsewhere. That's not even one tenth of the uploading speed that other hosting companies like HostMonster, Lunarpages, StartLogic will give you. We have a fiber optical connection. So we should deserve much faster speeds.
Updates The available disk space and bandwidth have moderately increased in the past five months. February 8, 2007: Disk space increased from 50 GB to 200 GB and monthly bandwidth increased from 750 GB to 2,000 GB. April 27, 2007: iPowerWeb updates its only hosting plan by increasing disk space and monthly bandwidth. September 19, 2007: iPowerWeb slashes the monthly fee by $2, providing a 12-month service for $71.40. May 22, 2008: iPowerWeb is currently running a spring-time campaign in which a one-year plan costs only $59.40 ($4.95 x 12).
