The popularity of a website is often overshadowed by spammers and site crackers. If you don’t deal with them, they will take it over and run it to phish other Internet users. It is a disgusting trend. These spammers and site crackers are hard to catch because the cowards are use zombie computers to disguise their identity to cause damage and steal data.
Another difficulty in catching spammers and site crackers resides in recording the log of site visitors. Many hosting providers allow you to keep raw logs so that you can observe what IP address visited which part of the site at what time second by second. But use of raw logs has limitations. If you have hundreds or thousands of visitors daily, it won’t be easy to find out who has entered your website to cause damage. (more…)
