Website for University of North Carolina, The Beasley Center, Hacked for Online Pharmacy Store - Part 1

TOKYO (MacHouse) - The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is the main campus of the University of North Carolina higher education system. What does the Beasley Center have to do with pharmacy? Pharmacy? Yes, pharmacy. I’m not confused. Is it the pharmacy college of the University? No, it’s not. According to its website (http://www.beasley.unc.edu), the Beasley Center is ‘the premier video and multimedia facility’ for the Chapel Hill campus. (Screenshot 01 is the index of the Beasley Center’s website.)

If you look under the directory of pharmacy at Beasley Center’s website, you will find an odd list. (See Screenshot 02.) Apparently, the CHMOD of the folder is set to 755, 757 or 777 so that its content is viewable. Double-clicking on one of the 21 subdirectories will forward me to an online pharmacy website at fastcanadianpharmacy.com. (See Screenshot 03.)
Apparently, the website of the Beasley Center is hacked. It’s used as a redirection point to forward Internet users to a junk pharmacy website, which is hosted in Frankfurt, Germany. We will have a detailed report in a few hours. Stay tuned.
