TOKYO (MacHouse) – Just about two weeks ago, an organized cyber criminal group used a free website hosted at Free Hostia (freehostia.com) as a redirection point to forward Internet users to a PayPal phishing website in France. Almost 10 hours ago, possibly done by the same cyber scam organization, a phishing e-mail message went around to send Internet users to a website especially prepared for Skype users.

The title of the message is Skype : Please Update Your Account Informations (their grammatical mistake). (See Screenshot 01.) The phishing message urges the recipient to update their Skype account by clicking on a link that says Click Here. The underlying link points to a redirection point at http://skype1.freehostia.com. Clicking on this link, one will be redirected within a second or more to an actual phishing website hosted at disgraced French web host Wistee (wistee.fr.) (See Screenshot 03-4.)

When arriving at the phishing website hosted at Wistee, you will be requested to enter Skype account name and password. (See Screenshot 04.) Then you will enter a bizarre stage. The next page says Add a payment methode. (See Screenshot 05.) There is no explanation as to what you are requested to make a payment for. After choosing a payment method, you will be then asked to fill out an account information form. (See Screenshot 06.) If you fill out the form successfully… You will be forwarded to a PayPal phishing website. (See Screenshot 07.)
