TOKYO (MacHouse) - Virginia Commonwealth University’s Partnership for People with Disabilities has its website at http://www.pubinfo.vcu.edu/partnership2/. (See Screenshot 01.) This website comes with forums at http://www.pubinfo.vcu.edu/partnership2/pda/forum/. (See Screenshot 02.)

Let’s take a close look at Screenshot 02. The forum statistics says one of the three members has made 14,376 posts. If you enter the top forum topic, you will see a ton of spam comments posted by the same user named atolka. (See Screenshot 03.) If we take a look at one of the topics posted by this person… There is a video screen. (See Screenshot 04.) Don’t click on it, or you will be instantly redirected to a fake malware scan website hosted at antimalwareguard.com. (See Screenshot 05.)

Screenshot 05 shows a common fake anti-virus/anti-malware scan scene. Eventually, you will see a dialogue that says System Warning. And you will be forced to download a file titled AntiMalwareGuard_Free.exe.

Many of the spam comments at forums run by Virginia Commonwealth University’s Partnership for People with Disabilities were posted 3 days ago. Sadly, 3 days isn’t enough for the forum moderator to notice this spam exploitation. How many more days will take it the moderator to return to its own website and remove spam comments?

We will have a detailed report in several hours. So stay tuned.
