TOKYO (MacHouse) - The domain of utk.edu belongs to the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. (See Screenshot 01.) web.utk.edu is a subdomain used by the University. However, http://web.utk.edu is not accessible, at least not through the http protocol. In the meantime, http://web.utk.edu.utk.edu/~sophia/ is used by University’s Undergraudate Philosophy Club. And their online forums are hosted at http://web.utk.edu/~sophia/pblang/.

An organized cyber crime organization appears to have exploited Undergraudate Philosophy Club’s online forums. They circulated at least one spam comment around blogs and forums worldwide at 09:33 AM (U.S. PST), June 17, suggesting that there is a spam post at Philosophy Club’s online forums. In fact, Philosophy Club’s online forums are filled with pharmacy & porn spam comments. (See Screenshot 02.)

There are many sponsors behind this spam operation at University of Tennessee’s Undergraduate Philosophy Club forums. One is the fake online pharmacy store hosted at the domain of pills-deals.com. (See Screenshot 03.) The fake online pharmacy store hosted at the domain of top-pharmacy-supplier.com is another sponsor. (See Screenshot 04.)

Undergraudate Philosophy Club’s online forums also hosts pornographic content. If you click on the link that says “Boot Leg Porn Video” shown in Screenshot 02, you will be forwarded to a porn page with a fake video screen that says “Click here to see movie.” (See Screenshot 05.) If you click on it, then you will be further forwarded to a scam website hosted at the domain of wowthatisilove.com. And you will be forced to download a file labeled “luxeLiteFreeVideos.exe,” which presumably contains a Trojan virus. (See Screenshot 06.)
