Beware of WWW.1URL.IN: Systematic Redirection to Malicious Websites

TOKYO (MacHouse) – There’s a free redirection service website at http://www.1url.in. If you enter a long URL, they will give a short URL with http://www.1url.in/#####, where # is any real number between 0 to 9.
A cyber scum organization has abused this free service and created at least 90 redirection links to fake free movie website and others. One destinatation is http://2008-adult-2008.com. Another destination is http://antivirus-scanonline.com.

For example, let’s see what happens if I access http://www.1url.in/27337. my web browser accesses a server through 2008-adult-2008.com. (See Screenshot 01.) And I do get redirected to a website hosted at 2008-adult-2008.com. (See Screenshot 01.) The title of the page says ‘Free Movie.’ Within a few seconds, my web browser accesses a server at s-soft08freeware.com, which brings me a file titled ‘MediaTubeCodec_ver1.213.0.exe.’ This file is believed to contain a computer virus.
Internet users are advised to avoid going to http:// www.1url.in. It’s the same reason you want to avoid going to Google Groups. They both let people use their systems for free. What if bad guys abuse their systems? It’s difficult and time-consuming to report abuse at their website to Google. As for 1 URL, there is no contact information. So you cannot report abuse. By visiting 1 URL and Google Groups, only innocent Internet users will suffer from their sloppy, lazy jobs. What do we see at 1 URL’s website? Oh, Google AdSense…
We will have a more detailed report in several hours.
