TOKYO (MacHouse) - For the past several days, we have exchanged e-mail messages with a support representative at a Dutch web hosting company called LeaseWeb. We hoped that they would cooperate in putting the fake anti-virus scan website hosted through the domain of antivirus-scanonline.com to death. It has turned out that LeaseWeb is very understanding and cooperative. And they have pulled the plug off the fake anti-virus scan website for now. Hopefully, nobody misses this fake anti-virus scan website.

This isn’t the end of the fake anti-virus scan menace at all. The scam organization behind Antivirus 2008 and antivirus-scanonline.com should be looking for a new dedicated server host for now. The fake anti-virus scan website will be back soon for sure. The idea, however, is to make them switch hosts over and over so that they will eventually get tired and waste their resources.
