Affiliate Spam: University of California SETI Exploited

anti spam

University of California at Berkeley is one of America’s best publicly-funded higher educational institutions and offers many good advanced programs. It’s primary website is located at www.berkeley.edu. There are many subdomains. One of them is setiathome. According to its website (setiathome.berkeley.edu),

“SETI@home is a scientific experiment that uses Internet-connected computers for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI).”

I don’t know anything about extraterrestrial life at all. But this website seems to have attracted affiliate spammers. Out-of-space aliens don’t sell viagra at a college website, do they?
